Lee has 15 years experience in the mining and metals sector covering a number of technical and finance roles most recently in the mining team at Barclays Capital. Lee also founded specialist advisory group, Rich Vein, to offer strategic and financing advisory services to junior companies and potential lenders and investors in the sector.

Lee has extensive global experience covering a diverse range of commodities, including gold, platinum group metals, base metals, mineral sands, iron ore, coal and diamonds. He has advised Société Générale and Credit Suisse on the technical risks of projects for potential financings and his recent advisory and consulting mandates include Cluff Gold (various gold assets, West Africa), EMED Mining (restart of Rio Tinto copper mine, Spain), Zamin Ferrous (Valentines iron ore project, Uruguay) and Kenmare Resources (Moma heavy mineral sands project, Mozambique).

Prior to joining Barclays Lee was with specialist mining consultants, SRK Consulting. Based in the South African and the UK offices, Lee specialised in managing due diligence studies and technical audits for internal and external financing, acquisition and mergers and independent competent person’s reports. Lee began his career gaining on-mine operational experience with AngloGold in South Africa.

Lee is a chartered engineer and a member of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining with a BEng(Hons) in Mineral Processing Engineering from Leeds University and an MSc in Mineral Resources from Cardiff University.
