Frauke is one of the co-founders of Portland Advisers and has over 20 years’ experience working as a financial advisor and lender in structured and project as well as corporate finance.
Before starting Portland Advisers in December 2008, Frauke was a Director in the infrastructure team at HSBC Project & Export Finance. She started her career by working in the corporate finance arm of a German private bank, focusing on privatisations in the former East Germany. Since coming to London, Frauke has worked in structured and project finance at BHF Bank and then at Charterhouse Bank before joining HSBC in 2000.
In the infrastructure sector, Frauke’s main experience relates to working on advisory roles for PPP transactions. She is very experienced in advising on and structuring all stages of a PPP financing up to financial close. This includes running funding competitions, negotiating detailed term sheets and loan agreements, preparing the financial sections of all submissions that are part of a PPP project and supporting her private sector clients in the commercial negotiations of the concession contract. She is also used to working with and co-ordinating the work of lenders’ due diligence advisers.
More recently, Frauke advised the Welsh Government on the procurement of next generation broadband for Wales. She was leading the financial workstream and, together with the Portland team, advised the Welsh Government on all financial aspects of the procurement. She is currently advising the Export Import Bank of the USA on satellite and submarine cable projects.
She has a DEUG de Sciences Economiques from Universite de Paris X Nanterre and a Business Masters degree. She is fluent in English, German and French.
